Film Updates

Jan 13, 2003

Dearest devotees of SKIN DEEP, the movie:

This is the first in a series of updates on the film SKIN DEEP.

Well fans, friends and artistic contributors to the film SKIN DEEP . . . It looks like WE HAVE A MOVIE! I am happy to report that picture editing is 99% completed on SKIN DEEP. After 3 arduous months of work with our editor in Spain we have a lean and mean version that is testing extremely well with our carefully selected audiences. The cut runs 84 minutes (not including the credits).

QUICK NOTE: The DEEP shooting script was 84 pages, so I guess the age old rule that one page of script equals one minute of screen time might have some truth to it.

The acting performances, cinematography, and story are all getting terrific reviews, so credit goes out to ALL of you.

MEET THE EDITOR: Our editor is Rafael Medrano of Siete y Tres in Madrid, Spain (www.sieteytres.com) He and his staff have been unbelievably generous. Their expert skills and supportive attitude towards our film have made working with them an absolute delight. Our decision to collaborate with co-production entities in Spain is one of the key ingredients for the eventual success of SKIN DEEP and we greatly appreciate their contributions to the film.

Sound editing will begin this month in Spain. We anticipate that the final lab work and print mastering will be done in Spain as well. Our goal is to have SKIN DEEP ready for the film market at the Cannes Film Festival in mid-May.

All the best for an ab fab New Year and stay tuned for more information on the progress of SKIN DEEP.

Sincerely,
Ken Karn
Producer, SKIN DEEP
